Instructions for abstract submission for the scientific session
The idea of this conference is to share the practical experiences of health professionals who are working to address health disparities in different parts of the country towards equity in health. Therefore, you can submit abstracts of different types: practical experiences, opinions and viewpoints and primary research. Abstracts that are not related to the theme of the conference can also be submitted.
Abstracts for both oral and e-poster related to the theme of this conference Equity in Health are accepted.
Faculty are allowed to submit abstracts for both oral and e-poster related to the theme and non-theme-based (General Medicine) topics.
Abstracts that are submitted on the theme of the conference are given preference over non-theme-based submissions.
PG students are allowed to submit abstracts for only e-poster related to topics that are both theme and non-theme-based (General Medicine topics).
Structure and submit your abstracts in MS Word in the English language, using Times New Roman (font size 12), double spacing, and adhere to the instructions mentioned below.
Mention the type of presentation (Oral or e-poster)
Only the title should be in bold; Font: Times New Roman; Size: 14. Capitalise Each Word in The Title.
Author/s’ name/s and affiliation should be in CAPITAL LETTERS. Name of the presenting author, being UNDERLINED. Author/s’ name/s should be followed by their institutional affiliations, and the email address of the presenting author.
Abstract, should not exceed 300 words, and must be followed by 3-5 keywords. Mention the type of paper (practical experiences, opinions, view points and theoretical concepts, primary research)
Type of papers accepted:
The oral presentations or posters can be: 1. Practical experiences– description and analysis of services provided, community programmes, training, advocacy, policy work towards equity in health and addressing health disparities. Providing health care to difficult to reached or excluded communities. 2. Opinions and viewpoints on the broad theme of equity in health care. Theoretical concepts. 3. Primary research – Clinical, community based or laboratory studies. (case study, case series, diagnostic , therapeutic or prevention studies).
Format of abstract:
1. Practical experiences– Background/need to addressed (purpose), methodology (what was done), outcomes (what we the benefits), discussion (problems that you faced and how you faced them), lessons learnt (generalisability of your experience). 2. Research work – Background, objective, methods, results, discussion and conclusion. 3. Opinions, view points and theoretical concepts – do not have to follow above formats.
Only one paper or e-posted per delegate is permitted.
Final decision regarding the type of presentation rests with the organising committee.
Last date for abstract submission: 1st October 2023
All abstracts will be reviewed, and the presenting author will be informed via email regarding the acceptance/ rejection of their abstract.
Intimation of acceptance: 15th October 2023
Oral presentation: Presentations must be prepared with the MAC-2023 template that will be shared with you along with the mail of acceptance using PowerPoint presentation. Time limit: 6 minutes (presentation) + 2 minutes (discussion)
E-poster presentation: E-poster presentation: All the information (Text data, photos, figures) must be designed in the MAC-2023 template slide that will be shared with you as and when the abstract gets accepted. Save your PPT in PDF format. Time limit: 4 minutes (presentation) + 2 minutes (discussion)
